Styal Country Park from Quarry Bank Mill

Hi everyone,
I am leading the next Ramblers walk. Please note I have had to change the date and it is a week earlier than scheduled on Wed 18th March.
I am currently planning to do a walk from Quarry Bank Mill (weather permitting). Philippa and I did this walk last week and it was very muddy but navigable. I will watch the weather and if necessary may offer an alternative of similar distance.
The walk is 4 miles along the riverside and through woodland. We then walk on the perimeter of Manchester Airport and can see the planes taking off and landing. The final stretch takes us through Styal village. This is an easy walk on very good paths but there are 2 short sections of steep steps up and down. We will take these slowly and there are benches to stop and admire the view of the river and countryside dotted around the estate.
You do not need to be a member of NT to use their free car park. Facilities open at 10.30 so to enable us to use the toilets I plan to start the walk from the car park at 10.30. This means we will need to leave the village by 9.45. I suggest taking something to eat and drink but there is the NT café for post walk refreshments.
